KLM suspension of Cairo flights not linked to FX shortage

KLM Airlines suspended its Cairo service as a result of its agreement with Air France, the state-run news agency reports citing an anonymous central bank official. On 14 September, the Airline said it plans to suspend flights to Cairo starting 8 January 2017 due to economic reasons. The central bank regularly provides foreign airlines operating in Egypt with hard currency needed for profit  repatriation, according to one official. (Bloomberg)
