Iran receives Saudi invitation to discuss hajj arrangements

Ali Ghaziaskar, Iran's representative in hajj affairs, said on Monday that his country had "officially received Saudi Arabia's invitation to meet and hold bilateral talks on the haj". The talks would be about accommodation, transportation, safety, medical care, visas and banking, Ghaziaskar said, adding that Iran would respond in the coming days. Iran boycotted hajj last year, accusing Saudi Arabia of failing to guarantee safety after hundreds had died in a crush at the 2015 pilgrimage, mostly Iranians. (Reuters, IRNA)
