Industrial investors calling for gas price cut to all industries to USD4.5/mmbtu, similar to proposed cut for steel industry
Egyptian investors have been calling for the reduction in gas price to USD4.5/mmbtu to be applied to all industries, and this came as a reply to last week’s statement that was made by Tarek Kabil, Minister of Trade and Industry, that showed an intention to reduce natural gas price for steel manufacturers only. The decision to cut natural gas price for steel companies has not yet been finalised and has seen considerable hesitation from the government’s side in the past months. (Al Ahram, Ahmed Hazem Maher)
