IMF will not discuss Egypt’s loan request during annual meetings, Head of Mission says
The Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission to Egypt Chris Jarvis told reporters that IMF officials would not discuss Egypt’s request for USD12bn loan during the annual meetings scheduled to start on Thursday. The IMF Board will discuss it within the coming few weeks, he said, adding that the Egyptian government has achieved progress in securing the USD5-6bn required funding ahead of the board meeting.
