IMF says Egypt’s economic reform programme proceeding as planned
IMF Mission Chief to Egypt, Chris Jarvis, said that the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank (CBE) are implementing the reform measures as agreed with the IMF and that the reform programme is proceeding as planned. The IMF and the government met last week in London to discuss the latest economic performance indicators in preparation for the fund’s first review mission due to arrive in April to unlock the second tranche (USD1.25bn) of the loan, according to the Minister of Finance, Amr Al Garhy.
