IMF, Egypt discuss current budget, VAT law to pass end-Aug, early-Sept - Finance Minister says
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is discussing the state budget with the government and means to achieve the planned targets, Minister of finance Amr El Garhy said. The minister expects the parliament to pass the Value Added Tax (VAT) law by end-August or early-September. The country is making good progress in negotiations with the fund, he noted, adding that talks will continue until mid-August. (Reuters)
