Gulf Bank completes KWD100mn capital-boosting Tier 2 bond
Gulf Bank has completed the sale of a KWD100mn (USD330.9mn) capital-boosting bond, the bank announced in a statement on Tuesday. The issuance is Basel III compliant and will enhance Gulf Bank's Tier 2 capital. Pricing was not disclosed. The bond has a maturity of 10 years but contains a clause that would allow the bank to redeem the paper after five years. This is the first public issuance for Gulf Bank. The issuance was oversubscribed by investors that included institutions and high net-worth individuals, it said. Gulf Bank's capital adequacy ratio stood at 15.6% at end-2015, against a regulatory minimum of 12.5%. (Reuters)
