Gov’t studies raising stamp tax on select activities
The government is studying raising the stamp tax payable for select activities in several sectors, including insurance, real estate and mining, Finance Ministry sources told Enterprise. The proposal would see higher stamp tax rates paid to take out building permits, mining licences and insurance policies. It would be the first stamp tax increase on those activities since 2006.
