Government said to postpone signing USD1bn tranche of World Bank loan to December

The government has reportedly asked the World Bank to sign the first USD1bn tranche of a three-year loan worth a total of USD3bn towards end of year, instead of this month, to allow more time for parliamentary approval. The loan – pledged last December – will be injected to support budget deficit once Parliament ratifies the conditioned reforms, including the Value-Added Tax, sources confirmed. (Al Mal)
