Fertiliser companies discuss price adjustments for their products post devaluation
Egyptian Fertiliser companies are currently discussing adjustments in the domestic price of fertilisers with the government following the recent EGP devaluation, according to Al Mal. The news source added that Abu Qir Fertilizers Company (ABUK) [ABUK.CA] would incur an additional annual cost that ranges from EGP1.6bn to EGP1.9bn following the recent devaluation since they sell most of their products at a certain quoted price. It is worth noting that the government-owned fertiliser companies are obliged to quote the following prices for fertilisers: i) Urea: EGP1790/tonne; and ii) Nitrate: EGP1690/tonne, which does not match with their international prices.
