Ethydco conducting pre-launch trials on ethylene and polyethylene plants

Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, has announced that the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (Ethydco) has started the trail of its petrochemicals facilities as a preparation for the official launch. Abd El-Rahman Zeid, Ethydco's chairman, mentioned that the ethylene cracker has a capacity of 460K t/y and that the polyethylene production plant has a capacity of 400k t/y, while also pointing out that both facilities were tested successfully. It is worth noting that Sidi Kerir Petrochemical Company (Sidpec) [SKPC.CA] owns a 20% economic stake in Ethydco.
