Emirates could cut frequency and routes to Africa as the continent grapples with economic challenges
Emirates airline could reduce the frequency of flights to Africa or cut routes entirely if current economic and financial challenges on the continent continue. Emirates has expanded rapidly in Africa to benefit from increased demand that accompanied growing links between the Middle East and the continent, as well as cater to passengers flying to and from Asia. Emirates President said that certain African currencies have really gone down, so they are considering whether it is worth travelling to these destinations as refueling at some of these locations becomes a challenge due to scarcity of jet fuel.
