Elsewedy Electric ( SWDY.CA) subsidiary, Elsewedy Electric Company for Trading and Distribution, signed an EPC contract with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company on 4 July 2016 for a 358Km 500KV overhead transmission line, to be delivered over 18 months from the signing date. The project’s total value is USD190mn (EGP1.7bn). Elsewedy’s turnkey backlog reached EGP21.4bn by end of 1Q16. In June 2016, the company also won two underground transmission line projects in Egypt, with a total value of EGP671mn (to be executed within six months), as well as a QAR80mn (EGP191mn) substation contract in Qatar (to be delivered within 14 months).
