Elsewedy Electric signs SAR80mn EPC substation project in Saudi Arabia
Elsewedy Electric’s subsidiary, Elsewedy Power System Projects, signed on 16 August an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Abnia Consulting Engineers in Jeddah for 110/13.8kV substation on a turnkey basis. The project’s total value is SAR80mn (cEGP190mn) and is expected to be executed over 15 months. Elsewedy’s turnkey backlog reached EGP21.4bn by end of 1Q16. Moreover, in June 2016, the company won two underground transmission line projects in Egypt with a total value of EGP671mn (to be executed within six months), as well as a QAR80mn (EGP191mn) substation contract in Qatar (to be delivered within 14 months), and in July 2016 it signed USD190mn (EGP1.7bn) overhead transmission line project (to be delivered over 18 months).
