Electricity Ministry expects to receive offers for smart-meters auction on 12 July 2016; Elsewedy subsidiary included
The Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has hired an government affiliated company for handling the advisory work for the 250k smart meters auction, where El Sewedy Electric’s (SWDY.CA) subsidiary Iskra is amongst eight short-listed companies, replacing previously-selected global advisor. The eight short-listed companies will submit their offers on 12 July 2016, according to a source in one of the participating consortiums speaking to Al Borsa. Other companies include: Huawei, Dong Fang, China Machinery, ZTI, Ericsson and two other companies. The project includes supplying and installing 10 million smart meters in 10 years, and the current 250k bid is the first phase of the project.
