El-Molla discloses details on the USD900mn phosphoric acid complex
Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources, has announced that a new company will be formed to establish a USD900mn phosphoric acid complex in Abu Tartour, Egypt. He explained that the new company is a partnership between Phosphate Misr Company and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) companies. El-Molla noted that, in the second phase of the project, the complex will produce phosphate fertilisers. Khaled Al Ghazali Harb, Chairman of Phosphate Misr Company, noted that the complex will produce sulfuric acid, with an annual capacity of 517 thousand tonnes, which will be utilised to produce phosphoric acid.
