El-Molla approves USD1bn investment budget for Echem, Sidpec may take a role in the expansion strategy
Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, has approved Echem’s investment budget which was reported at USD1bn for 2017/18. Mohamed Safan, Chairman of Echem, mentioned that the investment budget will be used to expand the company’s projects, hinting that Sidpec will be taking a role in expanding propylene production in Egypt. Finally, he highlighted that propylene is of a high demand in the domestic and international market and that it add adds significant value to propane.
