Egypt to sign EUR500mn agreement with EIB in October for financing SMEs
Egypt will sign a EUR500mn agreement to SMEs with the European Investment Bank (EIB) in the second half of October, Ministry of International Cooperation announced Sunday on its website. The statement came after the Minister, Sahar Nasr, had met with EIB Director Heinz Olbers and EIB Egypt’s office chief, Christophe Lucet, in Cairo to discuss the current portfolio and areas of cooperation for 2017. Last December, Egypt signed a USD600mn loan deal with the EIB to finance a new power plant in Beheira governorate. (Al Ahram Online)
