Egypt to receive second USD1bn tranche of World Bank loan within days
Egypt is due to receive the second USD1bn tranche of the USD3bn three-year World Bank loan within days, according to Asaad Alam, Country Director for Egypt, Yemen, and Djibouti. The first tranche was disbursed in October 2016. World Bank Executive Director for Egypt, Merza Hussain Hasan, said the bank had started the review process required to unlock the third tranche and, that a delegation is meeting with Minister of International Cooperation and Investment, Sahar Nasr, in April to proceed with the discussions.
