Egypt to receive next USD1bn loan tranche by early January, World Bank says
The World Bank will provide the second USD1bn tranche of its USD3bn budget support to Egypt by early January, according to the bank's Vice President Hafez Ghanem. "We are planning to go to our board of directors either by late in December or early in January, so we are talking of a matter of weeks," Ghanem said on Tuesday. Egypt received the first USD1bn tranche in September and expects to receive the third tranche later in 2017. (Reuters)
