Egypt inks USD15bn oil deals in three years, Oil Minister says
The Ministry of Petroleum has signed c70 new agreements with investments worth USD15bn during the past three years, Minister Tarek El-Molla stated, adding the sector's strategy is focusing on developing gas discoveries in the Mediterranean Sea, Nile Delta, and north Alexandria. The Ministry made new expansions in Egyptian refineries, with investments estimated at USD8bn to boost local production of petrol, diesel, and butane by 60%, he said. Egypt achieved four oil discoveries for Italy's Eni, Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company, General Petroleum Company, and British BP in 2015, according to official statements released by the Ministry.
