Egypt in talks with six international automotive manufacturers to set up local operations
The government is in talks with at least six global automotive manufacturers to set up full-scale operations in Egypt, targeting manufacturing capacity north of 50k vehicles per year, the Public Enterprises Minister said. This is supported by the Minister of Trade’s earlier announcement of the government’s plan to introduce policies aimed at attracting foreign investments to the sector, which would incentivise local assemblers to commence and/or scale up manufacturing.
