EGAS to send explanatory memo defending current gas prices
The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) announced that it would send an explanatory memorandum about the government’s natural gas costs to industry players. This came in as a reply to the earlier requests made by industry leaders to reduce natural gas price. A source at EGAS noted that the memorandum would explain the detailed breakdown of natural gas cost from the side of the government. The news source also noted the memorandum shows that the natural gas price for manufacturers is fairly valued since it costs the government about USD7/mmbtu, which includes both domestically produced and imported natural gas.
