Edita Food Industries (EFID.CA) is currently mulling setting up a joint venture in Jordan to expand its presence in the market, in line with its regional diversification strategy. The company is reportedly in negotiations with a local snack food producer to set up a new plant, with due diligence expected to be completed within a month, Al Borsa reports. The company is on track with other Egyptian expansions for the year including a new candy line in Beni Suef set for 2H16, in addition to the recently-installed new rusks line (December 2015), which is now operational at full capacity utilisation. Also, the first phase of new E08 factory is under construction and scheduled for completion by end-2016, with production anticipated in 2017. (Company disclosure, Al Borsa)
