Dubai surpassed a milestone of 100,000 hotels rooms, according to a statement by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). The figure was reached following the opening of the Westin Dubai Al Habtoor City in August. DTCM said it expected room nights in the emirate’s hotels and hotel apartments to reach 35.9mn by the end of 2018, showing a CAGR of 10.8% from the end of 2015. The emirate is also expected to have 134,000 hotel rooms by the end of 2018 with an average occupancy rate of 77%. DTCM also predicts an increase in international overnight visitors an increase in the average length of guest stay to four days. (Gulf Business)
