Dubai Airport passenger traffic up 6% Y-o-Y in August
Dubai Airport passenger traffic rose to 7.73mn in August up from a 7.28mn a year earlier. The record number of passenger traffic was due to seasonal rush of travelers, in particular UAE residents returning for the start of the academic year. The Jan-Aug traffic rose to 55.9mn from 52.3mn in 2015. Growth was also underpinned by additional capacity and new service launches by the carriers. Dubai Airports CEO expects Dubai to World’s number 1 airport within this decade surpassing Atlanta and Beijing. (Bloomberg)
