Dubai Airport passenger numbers rise 7% Y-o-Y in May 2016
Passengers travelling through Dubai International Airport rose 7% Y-o-Y in May 2016 reaching 6.7 mn passengers with Eastern Europe, the fastest-growing market in May, up 17% Y-o-Y, followed by travelers from the Gulf (+16%) and Asia (+10%). According to the chief executive of Dubai Airports, near-record numbers are expected in the coming weeks as a result of the seasonal travel peak. Meanwhile, the amount of cargo handled increased 5% to 226,000 tonnes. (The National)
