Domestic workers can transfer sponsorship if salary is delayed for three months, Labour Ministry confirms
The Ministry of Labour and Social Development (MoL) confirmed that domestic workers can transfer to other employers in 13 cases, including proved late payment of salaries for three consecutive or intermittent months without the employee being the reason for this delay. MoL spokesman, Khalid Abalkhail, said. Other reasons include when the employer is not present to receive the worker at the port of entry into the country; or not taking the worker from the shelter house within a period of 15 days from the date of arrival, he added.
