Correction to yesterday’s story: Draft budget proposal anticipates EGP58.5bn in cigarette taxes in FY18-19
The draft budget proposal for FY18-19 shows cigarettes taxes of EGP58.5bn (vs. 59.1 in yesterday’s story) for FY18-19 vs. EG51.5bn (+14% vs. 1% in yesterday’s story) in FY17-18. Tax revenues are anticipated to increase 23% to EGP770bn. The budget is subject to approval by the Parliament.
