Construction interrupted at Qatari Diar’s City Gate
Qatari Diar (Diar) is reported to be considering exiting its EGP6.1bn project in New Cairo, City Gate, after construction had stopped for two months, following the equipment theft and vandalism at the site. NUCA had sent warnings to Diar for construction delays. Only 30% of the first phase of the project had been completed, with c500 units sold to date. Diar is said to have given its clients the option to stop paying the due installments and/or to redeem the paid amounts, with no penalties, until construction work resumes. (Al-Borsa, Enterprise)
