Competition Authority looking into automotive industry following price hikes

The Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA) is reportedly probing the automotive market, following the rising prices of cars of various types and categories and is expected to announce the results of its study after it is reviewed by the ECA’s board. According to ECA chief Mona El Garf, the study is looking into monopolistic practices that may have contributed to the unreasonable price hikes in all categories of vehicles, in order to ensure fair competition.
