Cleopatra Hospital Company reports 1Q16 net profit after minority interest of EGP19 mn
Cleopatra Hospital Company (CHC) reported its consolidated results for 1Q16 yesterday, posting net income after minority interest of EGP19mn on revenue of EGP210mn. 1Q16 was the first quarter where consolidated results reflect the full scale of CHC platform following the recent acquisition of Al Shorouk Hospital in January this year, according to the company’s CEO. Now generated from a more diverse pool of assets, group revenue for the quarter was EGP210mn, up 26% compared to 1Q15 pro forma figures. Inpatient services and surgeries were the top revenue contributors to group revenues at a combined 44%. Meanwhile, contract patients represented 61% of group revenues. The largest contributor to group revenues was Cleopatra Hospital, coming in at 44%, followed by Cairo Specialised Hospital having contributed 22% of consolidated revenues. On a pro forma basis, the 26% revenue growth was due to a group wide increase in patient volumes as well as an uptick in prices. The company posted 1Q16 EBITDA of EGP52mn, with an EBITDA margin of 25%. (Company earnings release)
