CBE Governor meets with President Sisi, Prime Minister, Finance Minister
Central Bank Governor, Tarek Amer, met with President Sisi, the Prime Minister Sherif Ismael, and the Finance Minister Amr Elgarhy. Amer outlined his plan to boost the country’s foreign reserves in the short term. Meanwhile, the President called for taking all necessary measures to lower the public debt, shore up reserves, and pay back dues on time. Sisi also stressed the importance of making sure that the poor are not harmed by reform measures and that food staples are available at reasonable prices, presidency spokesman said. Meanwhile, the USD-EGP jumped to EGP11.10 in the parallel market, up from 11.00/11.03 last week. (Al Ahram, Al Mal)
