Cabinet expects allies to provide aid; Saudi Arabia pledges USD2bn deposits

Egypt allies, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and international financial institutions will help plug Egypt’s funding gap over the next three years, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said yesterday. The Minister of International Cooperation, Sahar Nasr, said the government had signed an agreement for a USD2bn deposit with Saudi Arabia a couple of months ago without providing further details.
