Cabinet approves measures to reduce government spending
The Cabinet has decided on measures to reduce government spending on Thursday as recommended by the Cabinet's economic group. The decision stipulates rationalising and cutting non-salary expenses of all ministries, government entities, public companies and central administrative unites by 15-20%. Measures include downsizing diplomatic missions abroad by 50%. Administrative units will take the lead in such move. Prime Minister Sherif Ismael has directed all government entities to go ahead with projects as planned, with priority given to delayed ones. (Al Masry Al Youm)
