The board of directors of Salam Air has announced the appointment of François Bouteiller as the chief executive officer of Oman’s first budget airline. An industry veteran with over 30 years of experience, Bouteiller will take the lead in guiding the new carrier to its highly-anticipated launch in the fourth quarter of 2016, managing its operational and business strategies to cater to the sultanate’s traffic demand, which is expected to grow 40% by 2019, a statement from Salam Air's parent Asaas said on Tuesday. Prior to this appointment, Bouteiller was the CEO of Flynas, a low-cost carrier in Saudi Arabia. (Muscat Daily)
