BP, Eni announce new gas discovery off Egyptian coast
British Petroleum (BP) and Italy’s Eni announced a significant natural gas discovery in the Baltim southwest exploration prospect in the East Nile Delta last Thursday. The area is located 10 km north of the Nooros gas field which was discovered in July last year and has a production rate of 65,000 bps of oil equivalent. BP plans to utilise the existing infrastructure to accelerate discovery development and expedite early production start-up, regional president of BP North Africa said. (Reuters)
