BP approves investment in Egypt Atoll gas field 15 months after discovery
British Petroleum (BP) has approved investment in the first phase of developing the large Atoll gas field offshore Egypt, only 15 months after it first announced its discovery. The field -- estimated to contain 15mn cubic feet of gas and 31mn barrels of condensates -- was on track to deliver its first gas in 1H18 with a capacity of 300mn cubic feet per day, BP said without providing an investment figure for the project. Drilling will commence in August and will last for a 24-month period, BP said in a statement. (Reuters, Mubasher)
