Awasr gets Grade 1 Licence, works to expand network
Awasr, Oman’s first specialised broadband service provider, has been awarded a Class 1 Licence by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) after it met all requirements for amending the previous one. This new licence will now enable the operator to provide general fixed telephony services across the sultanate. With the new licence, Awasr is building a robust and advanced dedicated network, capable of delivering high-speed fibre-optic Internet of up to 1Gbps, an official communique from the company said.
