Aramex and Australia Post complete merging Australian e-commerce subsidiaries

As part of its deal with Australia Post, Aramex announced their JV acquired Australia Post's Star Track International, which offers global e-commerce postal and supply chain solutions, for AUD62.4mn (USD47.8mn). Aramex and Australia Post have established a joint-venture company based in Singapore that will be targeting the global e-commerce market with a particular focus on Asia. Aramex owns a 60% stake in this JV, while Australia Post owns the remaining 40%. In September 2016, Aramex announced it had sold MailCall Couriers to ST Couriers for a price (USD32.85) that covers its share in the JV. The JV will further help connect Australian businesses and consumers to the global economy and the fast-growing Asian e-commerce market. Australia Post will provide the last-mile delivery in Australia, utilising the existing network to deliver volumes generated by the joint venture. It is worth adding that Australia Post announced it had bought 4.5% of Aramex in August 2016, reportedly at AUD100mn, implying cAED4.2 per share.
