Aldar prepares to open a 2.4km canal running through its Shams development on Reem Island. The canal is its final testing and is scheduled for flooding by April. It will cover an area of 46,000 sqm, crossed by ten bridges. Along the canal, Aldar is close to completing 23km of walkways, 1,550m of cycle paths, and 3,650m of promenade along the coastal scape.
