Al Tayyar Group's founder resigns from Board; company looking to expand into Egypt in 2018
Al Tayyar Group [1810.SE] announced the resignation of the group's founder, Nasser Bin Aqeel Al Tayyar, from his role as a non-executive board member, effective 14 Dec 2017. This comes following the reported arrest in November of Nasser Al Tayyar, who currently holds a 29.72% stake directly and indirectly in the company. According to the company's statement, his resignation is due to personal reasons with no further details provided. On another note, Al Tayyar is looking to expand into Egypt in early 2018 as part of its new transformation plan to build the firm’s leisure, hospitality and online sales services, which would shift its focus from government travel contracts towards consulting travellers on tourism plans, operating hotels and developing online booking platforms.
