Al-Jazeera Steel: US to impose 7.9% dumping duty; impact negligible
Al-Jazeera Steel has informed the market that the Department of Commerce (DoC) of the United States of America (US) has imposed weighted average dumping margin/duty at 7.86% on its circular welded carbon- quality steel pipe. The company also mentioned that it will strongly contest the current DoC decision and believes that the determined margin will not have any material impact on the company’s revenue and profit. Our view: As we expected, the company will file a petition against this verdict and thus any impact would be delayed, in a worst case scenario. Nevertheless, revenue from US market as of 1Q16 was a mere 8.4% of total revenue and we do not expect the impact from the dumping duty to be material to our estimates.
