Al Ghurair Resources, a major grain trading and handling group in MENA, is planning to increase its grain production capacity by 20% (from 5 million tonnes to six million tonnes per annum) in 2016. The company intends to expand in Egypt and Iran, according to Chairman Essa Al Ghurair. Furthermore, the company plans to plans to set up a foodstuff complex in Oman’s Sahar province, in addition to a mill (600 tonnes per day), for a total investment cost of AED200-300 million.
