Afreximbank to provide USD2.3bn in funding for Egypt this year
Amr Kamel, Deputy Head of African Export and Import Bank (Afreximbank), said the bank's total financing to Egypt during the first half of this year had reached USD1.7bn — through bank loans worth USD1bn and start companies worth USD700mn — to support Egyptian exports to African countries. Afreximbank is also planning to inject additional funds into Egypt by end of year, amounting to USD600mn during the second half of this year, pointing out that the total funding received by Egypt in 2018 is USD2.3bn.
