Abu Dhabi Executive Council approved a proposal to merge three post-secondary institutions - Khalifa University, Masdar Institute and the Petroleum Institute - under one umbrella. About 4,508 students are enrolled across the three institutions. The merger aims at placing the university among the best universities in the world and also seeks to reach a high level of operational efficiency. (The National)
