Abraaj said to pursue controlling stake in Rameda Pharmacetical
Abraaj is rumoured to be on the verge of submitting an offer to acquire a majority stake in Rameda Pharmaceutical, where Abraaj’s decision was mainly inspired by Rameda’s major shareholders, Raya Holding (30%) and Sphinx Private Equity (17%), earlier announcement of their intent to exit their stakes in Rameda, according to related sources speaking to Al Borsa. Raya earlier announced that it had received an offer worth cEGP117 million for all of its c47 k shares and that the company is in negotiations to exit Rameda. Meanwhile, according to Al Borsa, Marianne Ghali, the managing director and chairman of Sphinx, stated that they plan on exiting Rameda and that they have already received offers for all their shares and will exit when they receive a ‘suitable offer’. However, Ghaly has not disclosed if the offer was submitted by Abraaj. (Al Borsa)
