40% of mobile shops fail to meet Saudisation requirements; 30% forced to shut down
40% of mobile shops in Saudi Arabia have failed to meet Saudisation levels imposed by the Ministry of Labour, which required 50% Saudisation level of their workforce from June 2016. As a result, 30% of mobile shops (1,549 stores) were forced to shut down for violations, with the Ministry reporting 2,702 violations within two months. So far, only 15,745 establishments have implemented the new rules. The Ministry expects the mobile shop Saudisation level to reach 100% by early September 2016. (Gulf Business)
