The Parliament’s Planning and Budget Committee approved the draft budget for FY19/20 and referred it to the general assembly to set a date for a vote. MP Yasser Omar told Al Borsa that the committee approved an EGP9.7bn increase in the draft budget, of which EGP1.5bn would be allocated to education, EGP1.9bn to health, EGP2.5bn to higher education, EGP1bn to the Ministry of Transportation, in addition to other increases to different sectors.
