Dubai’s economy forecast to grow 3.5%/3.7% in 2018/19

Dubai’s economic growth is forecast to pick up in 2019 and reach 3.7% as infrastructure development and diversification policies continue, said Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai. Real GDP, which grew 2.85% in 2016, is projected to grow 3.2% in 2017 and 3.5% in 2018 respectively, according to the crown prince. Dubai’s economy, the second biggest in the UAE, is set to expand, thanks to rising domestic demand and recovery in the global economy, according to Sami Al Qamzi, director general of Dubai Economy – the emirate’s economic development body.
